Sloting Plus reamers are specifically designed for use on any aluminum or plastic workpiece and have several important advantages over tapered reamers:
1st - Precision. They have the same diametral measurement from beginning to end.
2nd - Accuracy. The re-cut hole is perfectly sized along its entire length and will never be conical.
3rd - Safety. The shaft will always fit perfectly into the hole along its entire length.
4th - Requirement. A tapered reamer will never have the accuracy of a straight reamer and there is a serious risk of enlarging the hole too much at one of its ends, compromising the precision, which will require discarding the piece.
